Alright, it's been almost two years. It's tough to say I'm back permanently, but I kinda miss DA and miss y'all. A lot of stuff has gone down in the couple years since I last posted. Been working for Sideshow Collectibles doing statue concepts and paintings with some retardedly awesome peeps, and worked on season 2 of My Little Pony haha. To top it all off, Im doing my college thesis animation right now which is taking up allll my time.

But yeah, I definitely post more in the realm of sketches and development stuff on my blog: so check it!

And thank you guys for commenting/ faving while I've been gone. If I could track you all down and thank you, I totally would! You rock! When I get time, I'll go check out all your galleries to see the new stuff fo sho!

Now gotta get back to film jazz...

Thanks man!!

I just took a look at your gallery and gotta say, you're talented man. Really good stuff. To build on what you have, I would suggest going to life drawing sessions if at all possible. Specifically animation-style life drawing, which are the fast poses (30 seconds to 5 minutes). The speed at which you need to draw really emphasizes being able to draw the figure as a whole unit, rather than focusing on parts like you would in a 3 hour pose for instance. You'll develop better anatomy shorthand, have better line quality, anatomy knowledge, better poses, shapes, light/ dark patterns, etc. Honestly, if there's one thing that's important to drawing and painting as a whole is life drawing. So go!!

Thank you so much for your response!!! And most of all for taking a look at my gallery. Sorry for my late response I haven't been on here for a some weeks, but yes I totally see what you are telling me, other artists tell me the same, to build up on my figure drawing. So I have been practicing everyday, studying up on Andrew Loomis, George Bridgeman and other great artists. As well as drawing from life as much as I can, and from photos. And if you don't mind me asking, how did you get started in the business and got your first jobs? Again, thank you for taking your time in responding, your work is always a source of inspiration for me! Never stop! :D

You're on your way man. Keep up what you're doing and constantly challenge yourself. Get drawovers too! those can be the most helpful. Photos can be a bad way of learning though since they lack the 3d depth you'd get from drawing from life, so try as best you can to do that!

And I got started in the biz by getting my work out there, and through various circumstances and coincidences I landed my current job at sideshow. You just need to put your work out there, but don't just expect people to respond to it. You've got to do your share of helping others, commenting, critiquing, etc and they'll come to you. Just stay active and you'll get it man! Good luck dude! And thanks for the kind words!
